Bengals coach Lewis is focusing on 2010 season

The Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis keeps in mind that the most important thing for him to do is to improve his team for a better season in 2010. As about his future after the season, he has no time to worry about it.

“It’s like I tell the players, ‘My focus is on 2010,’ ” Lewis told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “Beyond that, I don’t have to worry… Generally we’ve been able to work things out between the two of us.”

I guess his confidence majorly comes from what he knows about the Bengals’ owner and team president Mike Brown. As last year’s Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year, the Bengals simply have no reason to allow Lewis to enter the new season as a lame duck. There is just no need for the coach to talk much about the contract. What he has brought to those wearing Bengals jerseys is just enough for him to believe he will get what he deserves.
