If possible, The Cowboys will release or trade LB Greg Ellis so that there will be more space to the team's salary-cap.
A report on the Dallas Morning News said that the Cowboys are considering trading or releasing veteran LB Greg Ellis, a move that
could free up between $4.15 to $5 million for the team’s salary cap. The Dallas Morning News also said that Ellis did not appear at the team’s OTAs on Thursday after playing with the first team onTuesday.
Although Ellis has been looking forward to being a Dallas Cowboy, it seems that there is nothing he can do if the team makes decision.
3 are expected to be competing for the vancancy: The Cowboys loaded up on pass rushers in the 2009 NFL Draft, Brandon Williams from Texas Tech, Oregon State’s Victor Butler, and Anthony Spencer.
Ellis entered the Cowboys in 1998 as the first-round draft pick. The most impressive of him might be that the team chose him other than WR Randy Moss.
