Jets OT Ferguson and Packers LB Matthews were added to Pro Bowl

The NFL announced Friday that the New York Jets offensive tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson and the Green Bay Packers rookie linebacker Clay Matthews were added to the Pro Bowl to replace two injured players who were previously on the all-star rosters.

Ferguson is to replace the Miami Dolphins tackle Jake Long who is ruled out because of injury. Thus Ferguson becomes the fourth Jets player and third Jets offensive lineman on the AFC roster, joining center Nick Mangold, guard Alan Faneca and cornerback Darrelle Revis.

Matthews was added to the NFC roster to replace the Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs. Finishing the season with 58 tackles, a franchise rookie record of 10 sacks, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, six passes defended and one defensive touchdown, Matthews is the first Packers rookie to Pro Bowl selection since receiver James Lofton in 1978.

Therefore there will be totally four Packers to play for the NFC team. The other three are safety Nick Collins, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and cornerback Charles Woodson. So we can expect quite a few Packers fans wearing green Packers jerseys to watch the Pro Bowl game on Jan. 31 at Dolphin Stadium in Miami.
