WR Stallworth will have to look for job

The Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth was unable to be happy for long after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced last Friday that he would reinstate the receiver into league after Super Bowl, as it has been reported that the Browns will release him upon reinstatement.

Stallworth, who was under the influence, struck and killed a pedestrian while driving on a causeway connecting Miami and Miami Beach on March 14, 2009, resulting in his suspension from football. He served 24 days in jail and was placed on house arrest.

According to The Plain Dealer, the Browns will make their decision before March 20, the 15th day of the 2010 league year. If Stallworth is still on the roster by that date, the Browns will have to play him a $1 million roster bonus. Of course the team has no intension to pay that for a player who missed the entire season.

Not to continue his NFL career in Browns jersey, Stallworth really needs a good plan for his pro career. Maybe he could learn something from what the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick experienced.
