The St. Louis Rams have had their four-time Pro Bowl defensive back Nolan Cromwell back, not to play football with younger players, but to coach them, to be exact, to coach the wide receivers, replacing former wide receivers coach Charlie Baggett.
So Baggett went to the Tennessee Titans to be an assistant head coach and wide receivers coach after spending one season with the Rams, while Cromwell returned to the team with which he spent his entire 11-year NFL career, when the Rams were still located in Los Angeles.
Entering his 17th season as an NFL coach, Cromwell began his coaching career as defensive and special teams assistant with the Rams in 1991. From 1992 to 1997 he served as special teams coach for the Green Bay Packers and as wide receivers coach for the first time in 1998, also for the Packers. After that he spent nine years from 1999 to 2007 with the Seattle Seahawks coaching receivers in Seahawks jerseys. The last two seasons was spent with the Texas A&M as offensive coordinator.
