Trail Blazers beat Magic 102-87 even short of Brandon Roy

Also guard Brandon Roy did not put on his No. 7 Portland Trail Blazers jersey to play against the Orlando Magic, he might be just as glad to hear that his team eventually managed to win Friday night’s game against the Magic, a big 102-87 win.

Magic’s star center Dwight Howard was doubled-teamed for most of the night and made just four of seven attempts from the field, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds, and top performer Rashard Lewis only had 15 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assists in the Magic’s sixth loss in its last eight games. The Magic made just seven of 30 3-point attempts and hit only 50 percent (10 of 20) from the free-throw line. Howard made three of 10 free throws.

The Blazers’ top performer Martell Webster had 24 points and 9 rebounds, and the second best LaMarcus Aldridge added 14 points and 14 rebounds while the team’s two-time All-Star Roy did not get on court because of injury he suffered during the quarter of the Blazers’ 120-108 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.
