Landry had career-high 27 points and led Rockets to 108-99 win

Carl Landry found his best after a dental surgery by scoring a career-high 27 points during Tuesday night’s win over the Los Angeles Clippers, his first game back after the surgery.

He went 7 for 10 from the field and 13 for 15 from the free-throw line as the Houston Rockets beat the Clippers for the 10th time in 11 games.

Luis Scola had 19 points for the Rockets, including 11 in the third quarter when Los Angeles made a charge. And Rocket star Tracy McGrady had 10 points and three assists in eight minutes.

The Rockets led 74-63 midway through the third quarter but Los Angeles pulled within two in the fourth. Landry helped Houston pull away again with two free throws, a dunk and a reverse layup during a decisive stretch after the Clippers’ rally.

Chris Kaman of the Clippers also scored the most points in his 6-year career of wearing NBA jersey, but his 29 points did not help the Clippers to win the team they have not won since Dec. 23, 2006.
