Bengals WR Henry was badly injured after falling out of pickup

The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry is now alive but “battling for his life” as he has been badly injured after falling out of the back of a pickup during a domestic dispute with his fiancée on Wednesday, at least that was what police thought it should be.

Henry was found in the road in south Charlotte “apparently suffering life-threatening injuries,” according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. Police spokesman Robert Fey said officers were stationed near the 26-year-old Henry’s hospital room. He had no information on Henry’s condition, but said he was alive.

According to local police, a dispute began at a home just before noon and Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his fiancée was driving away from the residence and Henry fell out of the pickup.

The last time Henry was seen in a game wearing his Bengals jersey was during a win over the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 8, when the receiver broke his left forearm. He had surgery and was placed on season-ending injured reserve following the game.
