CFL team Blue Bombers will not sign Pacman Jones

One day after several reports came out to say that Adam “Pacman” Jones would play for a CFL team after taking off nfl jersey, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced on Wednesday that they had completed assessment and decided not to sign with the ex-NFL player.

“It is unfortunate that this situation became public; however, our position has remained consistent,” Blue Bombers coach Mike Kelly said in a statement. “We will pursue athletes that we believe will contribute to our organization on and off the field. We have completed our assessment and due diligence and at this time we will not be pursuing the services of Adam Jones.”

Jones was really a controversial player while he was in the NFL. He was arrested six times and involved in 12 instances requiring police intervention while he was with the Tennessee Titans, causing suspension for the 2007 season, and received another behavior-related suspension for an off-field scuffle with someone while he was with the Dallas Cowboys.

After being ruled out by the CFL team, Jones still could find a way back to football by looking for deal among the UFL, a new four-team league scheduled to begin play in October and having interest in the ex-NFL cornerback.
