The Bengals starting tight end Reggie Kelly tore his tendon and had to be out for the whole season, backup Ben Utecht was also sidelined with a concussion. The team was definitely in lack of tight ends.
So they started making a move to stock tight ends by signing free-agent tight end Kolo Kapanui and veteran J.P. Foschi.
Kapanui was accused together with receiver Biren Ealy of exposing themselves to two women in the parking lot of the apartment complex they were living in. That arrest caused them to be released by the New Orleans Saints in May.
Foschi played 11 games with the Raiders in 2005 and 2006 and spent last year with the Chiefs. He was back with the Raiders this year but waived by the Oakland on Saturday.
